Chapter 8

Will I experience the Vertigo of Slow?

There is no reason why you would not. Your mere presence wrapped in the veil of your genuine curiosity contains in itself the ingredients of its realisation. I am actually surprised you could even doubt that. The Vertigo of Slow presents itself as the consequence of slowing down in front of an artwork; no one is immune to the benefit of such an immersion.

I anticipate what you expect from me now and you won’t have it. Something along these lines: sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, breathe in, breathe out, open them, try to relax, look at the artwork, let your eyes wander, don't overthink ...

Setting up guidelines to enter a different state of consciousness through art appears counterintuitive to me. This is an ancestral discipline, not a new one that requires you to abide by a strict guidance. Your instinct will lead the way and you will know what to do. As for me, I will always stand by your side, as your companion, but not as your guru; you set the pace.

You asked me to solve a puzzle during a previous discussion and the time has come to face one yourself. You chose to be vulnerable by exploring this hybrid platform and have now to unlock its potential. This choice, just to be clear, was absolutely superb.

The Blue Neon should soon provide us again with the opportunity to greet the Vertigo of Slow. Embrace the concept of awe, but don’t expect to be struck yet.

Yours Sincerely,

BLUE
