The Book > Chapter 16
This is the chapter we talked about earlier. The Wheel of Art. A presumptuous term perhaps, but isn't it obvious to choose the most spiritual of the shapes to represent the concept of contemplation – or you can name it mindfulness, meditation, introspection, self-cultivation. Its natural perfection carries all the symbolic meanings defining The Blue Neon.
The circle implies a continuity in the way time manifests itself in this place, you will find no beginning and no end. You won't be trapped, as the substance resides in the possibility to immerse yourself, to leave whenever you want and to resume the quest anytime. You will feel when you have reached your quota, a sense of wholeness coupled with an heightened curiosity.
Not only is the artworks selection displayed in the form of a sphere, but this shape intertwines the subject and the object, a certain unity. And with the assurance that regardless of the time you dedicate to this practice and the steps you follow – no guidelines provided – your presence is already an accomplishment. You have to realise that.
The only requirement concerns the frequency of your visits. This must become a routine, altering yourself by taking into account what surrounds you and expecting in return to impact what you see. The Wheel of Art lets you naturally express your abstract thinking and accepts any personal tensions you can bring with you; curving it to your own desires, its fundamental essence will remain unscathed. Significant benefits are to be reaped from your discipline.
I don't think the idea of divine accurately describe the Wheel of Art, as it has no power and no authority over you. It would also suggest some kind of embodiment, a deity to be worshiped (or even appeased). The sacred should better be applied to the connection between the viewer and the artwork.
By now, you should have reached a certain threshold of knowledge that allows you to unearth the potential of this universe and a brief recap won't go amiss: who, what, when, where and why.
The Blue Neon is the place we currently wander in and the Wheel of Art constitutes its ultimate symbol. Me, I am merely a messenger accompanying you through the meanders, remember? During the course of our discussion, we have reviewed the features and values; you should be familiar with the concepts of chance, of limitation, of slow looking and of diversity.
Now, spin it.
Yours Sincerely,
BLUE
