Chapter 16 – The wheel of art, should I worship it?

Yama, the Lord of Death, holding the Wheel of Life

This is the chapter we talked about earlier. The wheel of art. Presumptuous term? Maybe, but why not selecting the most spiritual of the existing forms, indulging in some well-deserved contemplation – or you can name it the way it pleases you: mindfulness, meditation, introspection, self-cultivation; it doesn’t affect its innate potency anyhow.

This shape implies a continuity, confusing I concede, in the way time manifests itself here, in The Blue Neon; once you decide to delve into it and accept its most peculiar aspect, you will find no beginning and no end. Although as mentioned before, it won’t trap you in its web either, as the substance resides in the possibility of immersing yourself in this experience and leaving it whenever you decide; voluntarily in and voluntarily out. You will know if you have reached your quota, should you depart each time with more questions than answers.

Not only is this selection of artworks displayed in the form of a circle, but ultimately this shape manifests itself as well in the intertwining relationship between the subject and the object. And with the assurance that whatever the amount of time you dedicate to this practice and the steps you follow – define a process if you feel like it secures your involvement – your presence is already an accomplishment, even if you don’t fully realise it. In short, the long term added value on your mind and thoughts is unquestionable; though we will still discuss the positives outcomes.

The only requirement I would add concerns the frequency with which you visit this place, this must become a routine, altering yourself calmly by taking into account what surrounds you and expecting in return to impact what you see and interact with. The wheel lets you naturally express your abstract thinking and accepts any personal tensions you can bring with you; curving it to your own desires, its fundamental essence will remain unscathed, yet the benefits you might reap from it will be considerably enhanced.

By now, you should have reached a certain threshold of knowledge that allows you to deliberately unearth the potential of this universe and you might need a recap of what you have been presented: who, what, when, where and why. The Blue Neon is the place we currently wander in and the wheel of art constitutes its ultimate symbol. Me, I am merely a messenger guiding you through the meanders, remember? During the course of our discussion, we have reviewed some of the features and values; you should by now be familiar with the concepts of chance factor, of limitation and of slow looking. It sounds rather obvious when evoking a random selection, given the inherent arbitrary characteristic, but I also would like to emphasise the diversity part.

Now, spin it.

Yours Sincerely,

BLUE
